IGDA Party Game
I created the plot cards for the card game played at the IGDA members-only party during GDC 2008.
Fellow Game Writers SIG members Corvus Elrod, Matt Forbeck, Ben Serviss, and the mysterious Mykas0 wrote the rest of the cards.
Designer Chris Keeling had this to say about the game’s popularity:
I figured 3,000 cards printed, so there should be 3,000 turned in at the end of the evening (assuming thirsty customers!), right? In fact, I made off with a relatively small handful (less than 50) - I had hoped to get several hundred so I could send hard copies out to all of those who helped write the game! D’oh! I guess there is such a thing as being “too good”! Seems lots of people decided they made good souvenirs.
If the long term value of the cards outweighed the short term pleasure of free drinks, we clearly did something right.
